What is PAIMI

The Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI) Program was created by Congress in 1986 to protect the rights of individuals with significant mental health needs. OPAD provides legal and culturally-based advocacy services to help individuals with mental illness receive safe, appropriate, and humane treatment—no matter where they live and/or receive services in American Samoa

PAIMI FUNDING

The PAIMI Program is federally funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and administered through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
